Mercedes-Benz 220S Ponton Coupé – 1959

Matching numbers Ponton Coupé

The Mercedes-Benz W180 Ponton was developed using a revolutionair design for its era. It is one of the first car models that was no longer using a separate chassis and body, but a self-supporting body in one piece, carrying the engine, drivetrain and suspension elements, such as modern cars still do today.

This 220S Ponton Coupé has been originally delivered to France and found a second owner in the UK about ten years ago. It was sold in 2016 to the actual Belgian owner, who enjoyed the car regularly and maintained the car very well. The car is in very good and healthy condition, with excellent body and mechanics. The six cylinder petrol engine delivers good power and runs as smooth as only a Mercedes can.

The two-tone paintwork is just beautiful, although with some minor dents and paint chips. The interior is magnificent, with seats in perfect and beautifully aged red leather and a brand new wooden dashboard. this elegant classic is fully functional, runs and drives like new and is ready to hit every road.

This wonderful Mercedes-Benz Ponton Coupé comes with a lot of documentation and a large maintenance file.
